buttermere - high stile - gable traverse - styhead - sca fell - esk hause - seathwaite (October, 2007)
Well this was meant to be a bit longer, but as it turned out this was more than enough. A great weather forecast proved to be only a day or so out of kilter - ergo not so good the first day - but OK; stunning second day.
birks in dancing shoes (October, 2007)
A fabulous day out over some great mixed terrain; for some reason we were flying....perhaps it was the contemporary version of the 'red shoes' sported by Larry. He is finally beginning to realise that which the more experienced walker has been telling him for years ;-)
newlands valley, dale head, robinson (October, 2007)
Off we go again.... surprisingly we amend the route 'en route' which was good. Larry had never been this way up to Dale Head....will he ever go the same way again?
His desire to 'do' Wainwright exhibits the true nature of the competitive beast ;-)
Steep? Just a bit. Unrelenting? Not really. A good pump? Oh yes.
rydal to threlkeld - via fairfield, red tarn, and the helvellyn ridge (November, 2007)
An overnighter from Rydal to Threlkeld using the bus and crossing through some great terrain. Day one was reasonably busy....yet on Sunday I only saw one group of three people at Clough Head.
